One of Metolius' newest offerings, the Fat Bastard Crash Pad has not only a great name, but also some excellent features to protect your butt from sketchy landings. Three inches of open-cell foam topped by one inch of high-density closed-cell foam create four whopping inches of impact diffusion and absorption. Metolius' trademark 45-degree center hinge allows this pad to fold flat and still avoid the center gutter that occurs on most hinged crash pads; land dead center on the hinge, and it won't feel any different than straddling the hinge. Laminated die-cut shoulder straps, a waist-belt and a briefcase handle turn the heinous trek to the Druids into a pleasant morning stroll. Seal the deal with custom Metolius aluminum buckles.
